Is IELTS UKVI mandatory for the UK for Indian students?

IELTS UKVI is not mandatory for Indian students apply to UK universities.
Many universities accept other English tests or give IELTS waiver to the students on 12th English scores/MOI on UG degree.
However, UKVI IELTS is required if you are applying for foundation or pathway programs.
