Do I need German language for studying Engineering in Germany?
German is not mandatory is you are studying an English Taught Course however in some Public Universities you may need to have minimum German language abilities to avail the tuition fee waivers.
Basic German knowledge A1 – B1 is recommended for Daily life (shopping, transport, doctors); Part-time jobs; Internships or industrial placements; Integrating socially
If a German Taught course is chosen then a higher level of German proficiency is required (typically B2 or C1 level) Standard Tests – TestDaF, DSH, Goethe Zertifikat
