Blocked account in Germany

Blocked Account (Sperrkonto) is a special type of bank account required by the German government for international students (including Indians) as proof of financial resources to support themselves during their studies in Germany.

The German student visa process requires proof that you can:

• Cover your living expenses

• Without relying on public funds or illegal work

It’s mandatory for most Indian students applying for a long-term student visa

Currently, the minimum amount required is €11,208/year translating to roughly 10-10.5 lakh INR. This is released monthly at the rate of €934/month for daily expenses, rent, food, transport, insurance, etc
